For those of you that are United members, flying domestic usually means buying a United lounge pass to get access which costs $500. However, if you a United MileagePlus Premier Gold or higher, you have Star Alliance Gold Status which gives you some added benefits. This is the Air Canada Lounge hack.
Star Alliance Gold allow you to access the largest lounge network in the world! If you are travelling through LGA to “somewhere” via the new terminal, the Air Canada lounge is available.
The Air Canada lounge has one difference… self pour. Okay, maybe two. You self pour your own drinks and they have Bullet, Captain and other premium liquors available at no cost. Plus they have better free beer options then United’s lounge.
If you are a United member and have Star Alliance Gold status, stop in at the AC lounge in LGA. As you travel throughout the USA, there may be other Star Alliance lounges that are readily accessible. Check out Star Alliance’s “lounge finder” to see if there is a lounge near you and if you are permitted.
The Air Canada lounge at LGA is located on the second level, up the escalators once you have gone through security. Tip: For those United travellers, the gates they appear to be using are 40-47 which you can see from the AC lounge seating area. Here are a few pictures of the lounge.
