The W Koh Samui is a very unique resort. Firstly all the rooms have a private pool and who doesn’t need that next to the beach. The property is also on a point so you get amazing views wherever you go. This resort is one of a kind and is featured a lot in SPG ad campaigns. We recently stayed here for a wonderful 7 nights and were blown away by the resort and its people. You could spend a lot of time at the resort if you desire.
TTST Recommendation – Yes, so far one of my favourite and a must see/stay hotels!
SPG Recognition:
- Room Upgrade – recognized but unavailable due to high season
- Suite Nights – not available (SPG Limited Participation)
- Welcome Gift – yes, chose the breakfast
- Late Checkout – yes
- Other
-
- Two coctails at the Woobar from 5:30-7:30PM everyday
- Can use SPG points for special meals and activities
The great:
- Staff – Service, service, service! Excellent everywhere from check-in, the bars, the restaurants and the beach service
- Room Quality – All the rooms are suites and include everything you may need including your private pool
- It was our anniversary and they did everything to make it special from in-room drinks and food, to special requests.
- Sweet Spot – 4 locations within the resort where you can help yourself to cold water, pop, and ice cream!
- Views – almost everywhere you go there is a view including the famous Woobar
- Spa – the spa was excellent, its not your regular Thai massage
- Breakfast Buffet – amazing food, too much to eat and you can’t really go wrong with fresh juices and made to order meals
- Unique – Small things such as snacks in the room at night, the bear that changes his wardrobe, etc.
The not so great:
- The traditional modern style of the rooms and resort will not work for everyone
- The Kitchen restaurant’s Thai food was very disappointing and lacked flavour however their breakfast buffet was amazing
- The activity selection appeared limited, we ended up going with outside vendors
